Diet for Cancer

Cancer patients undergoing our herbal chemo procedures are advised to take vegetable salads in the morning and afternoon. Later in the evening they can take rice, chapati or millet meals.

Vegetable Salad

  • Carrot – 1 no (small)
  • Big onion – 1/2 no.
  • Tomato – 1/2 no.
  • Cucumber – 1/4 no. (small)
  • Capsicum- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Cabbage – 1 leaf (chopped or grated)
  • Coriander leaves – few
  • Salt – as needed
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp (adjust)
  • Lemon juice – few drops
  • Olive oil or sesame oil – 1/2 tsp

Wash and chop all the vegetables into small cubes. Add salt,lemon juice & pepper powder. Mix well. Lastly add 1/2 tsp of oil,mix and serve. Adjust the quantity of pepper powder as per your taste.

Cabbage

For every 100 g of cabbage, you’ll get 2.2 g of carbohydrate.

Cauliflower

For every 100 g of cauliflower, you’ll get 4.1 g of carbohydrate.

Broccoli

For every 100 g of broccoli, you’ll get 3.1 g of carbohydrate.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes only contain 3.89 g of carbs for every 100 g. You can eat them raw, roast them, or use them into a salad.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are a refreshing and nutritious addition to any salad as they contain just 2.16 g of carbs for every 100 g.

Radish

For every 100 g of radish, you’ll get 3.63 g of carbohydrate.

Zucchuni

For every 100 g of zucchuni, you’ll get 2.7 g of carbohydrate.

Green Gram or Mung Bean

For every 100 g of boiled and sprouted mung bean, you’ll get 4.2 g of carbohydrate.

Spinach

For every 100 g of spinach, you’ll get 3.63 g of carbohydrate.

White mushrooms

Mushrooms contain only 3.26 g of carbs per 100 g.

Lettuce

Perhaps one of the most popular, though least nutritious, vegetables, lettuce has only 2.97 g of carbohydrate per 100 g.

What is Cancer?

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells anywhere in a body. This process of cancer cells leaving an area and growing in another body area is called metastasis. BREAST CANCER

It is due to mutation of breast tissues causing them to keep reproducing. These abnormal cells thus formed cluster together to form a tumor. The tumor is called or malignant when the abnormal cells spread to other parts of breast or spread to other parts of the body via blood and lymphatic system.

NON-HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL) is a cancer which starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes.  It can develop in both T and B Lymphocytes. It can grow and spread at different rates depending on its type such as Indolent lymphoma, aggressive lymphoma, etc.

HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

NEUROBLASTOMA

It develops from immature nerve cells found throughout the body. It may lead to spinal chord compression and metastasis.

CARCINOID

It is a neuroendocrine tumor which usually develop in GI tract such as stomach, intestine or in the lungs. Sometimes it may even occur in the pancreas, testicles and ovary.

MULTIPLE MYELOMA

It is a cancer that forms in white blood cells called as plasma cells, which hwlp to fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs.

OVARIAN CANCER

It is a collective term for different types of cancer which arises within the cells of the ovary. They are all considered as one disease process.

PROSTATE CANCER

Prostrate  cancer can develop when cells in the prostate start to grow in an uncontrolled way. It usually does not cause any symptoms. Symptoms of prostate cancer include changes in the way of urination, difficulty starting to urinate or emptying your bladder, weak flow of urine and dribbling of urine after you finish urinating.

NON-SMALL CELL CANCER OF LUNG

Lung cancer starts when cells of the lung become abnormal and begin to grow out of control. About 80% to 85% of lung cancers are non small cell lung cancer.
